Welcome to Crashed in Roswell, the podcast that should not have been.
I honestly started out wanting to create a podcast about my family, a family I never knew. This quickly turned into a show steeped in lies, conspiracies, and the iconic UFO crash in Roswell.
I should have known better. Roswell is in my very DNA. We Bullock’s go back 4 generations and over 100 years in the community of Roswell. I’ve lived here my whole life, except for those 4 or 5 years where I tried to get away by moving to west Texas. But Roswell has a way of drawing you back in, as if it has a gravity of its own.
As a born and raised local, the UFO conspiracies of Roswell are put in the back of your mind. It really doesn’t even enter your thoughts. Sure, we are bombarded with images of aliens on our lampposts, signage, and city marketing. Aside from that, we don’t think about what happened in the desert outside of Roswell back in 1947. We leave that to the tourists.
I am no different. The Roswell incident was not even a thought in my mind until I met some very interesting people in Roswell whose story drew me into the lore deeper than ever before.
One of those people was John – a man with a firsthand account and story that was tied to my family and our history.
What now unfolds is a story of a town and its survivors… survivors in a misunderstood city.
For podcast fans, I like to think of this story as “S-Town meets UFO’s.” It’s a deeply heartfelt, emotional journey that goes beyond aliens and flying spacecraft. It deals with the humans on the ground and how the world’s most iconic UFO crash has affected them.
